Wayne’s first passion was architecture, and he was initially accepted into Temple University’s architecture program, but life pulled him onto another path. Still, architecture and construction remained in his heart and soul. After over 20 years in a business consulting and informatics track, his second career returned him to construction, design, and building science, codes, and standards. During those years, he built new homes for a major U.S. homebuilder, was a board member of the local chapter of The National Association of the Remodeling Industry, passed the first-level credentialing exam for NJ municipal building code inspectors, became involved with historic restoration and preservation in the NY-NJ-Philadelphia metropolitan area on buildings dating back to the 18th century, was a member of his township historic preservation commission, and began a construction expert witness practice with his reports being accepted into evidence by Courts of Law in five states. He finally retired from a major commercial and industrial electrical contractor as its Director of Safety. In retirement, Wayne’s photography business, Built World Photography, specializes in the Built World, including abandonment photography. Also in retirement, Wayne volunteers for SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration, mentoring current and prospective small business owners, including numerous photographers and videographers across the U.S.
